It is not always possible to fell a tree from its base. At HLTree services we utilise the variety of techniques listed below to remove trees safely and efficiently with the least possible disruption.
Felling: Cutting trees at ground level.
Assisted Felling: Using a rope or winch to assist the felling and guide the tree to its desired drop zone.
Double Rope Felling: Using one rope as an anchor (fail safe) and the other rope to pull the tree over.
Dismantling: When total tree felling is not possible due to nearby hazards, e.g. houses or phone lines, it can safely be removed to ground level by climbing it and dismantling it in handheld sections. Sometimes wood-decaying fungi may be present. These can cause total tree failure making the tree unsafe to climb. In these instances, the tree can be dismantled using a mobile elevated work platform/cherry picker. In certain cases, it is not safe to drop sections/branches from height, e.g. house/garage beneath the tree. In such a case sections/branches are rigged using ropes and pulleys to lower them safely to the ground.
No tree is too big, awkward or unsafe to be removed and I will perform this service with the highest standards of safety. Each job will be fully assessed for equipment requirements, safety requirements and to estimate costs. I can give advice on requirements such as road closures, conforming to restrictions in conservation areas and tree preservation orders (TPO). The steps I will take to protect your property and that of your neighbours will be fully discussed before work commences.
Many wooded areas and gardens can be greatly improved by carefully considered site clearance. I will assess the area to determine, after discussion with you, what will give the best results for your intended purpose and ensure the work undertaken is done to completion.
We can woodchip all branches on site. Woodchip can be used to make paths or put on flower beds as a mulch to stop the growth of weeds. Alternatively, we offer the complete removal of branches and logs from your site or crosscutting them to be used as firewood. Stump removal and grinding services are available. If the site is such that a stump grinder cannot gain access the stump can be killed using ecoplugs. This is more relevant where the species is a broad-leafed one as it may coppice and produce new growth when a conifer would not. The site will be left safe, clean and tidy.
Sometimes you may need assistance at an unusual/unsociable time, HLTree offer 24/7 services.07713 236688
